It is noted that the university accredits and recognizes high achievers to initiate others to cope up with them and to enable them to work towards the achievement of their objectives.

Mr. Girmaw Ashebe rDebreMarkos University Public Relations and Communication Directorate Director, says that it is designed and made to develop a sense of competition among students to enable them be confident and be proud of their academic performance. This also makes the learners to love their university to work for the development of it in the future.

The University is to incorporate the students President Ambassador Accreditation and Recognition Award in the academic Calendar to be held every December 21 so as to build it as a culture and manifestation of the University since the very reason for the establishment and existence of the University is to build competent, skillful and responsible citizens, Girmaw Underlines.

Awarding Students as president Ambassadors in their best performance shall be a culture for other institutions too and Ambassador Students should work in line with the responsibility they take, he added. Finally, students will establish and organize president Ambassadors center, he concluded.

Guest of honor Dr. Mastewal Mekonnen, South Eastern Oklahoma University Psychologist, addressing message to the students says that every Ethiopians grow through hard life experience which is full of ups and downs that demands high commitment. Thus, students may encounter various problems and challenges in spite of variation of degree in their lives. Students must struggle against the difficulties till they arrive at their destination though the problems they encounter seem to be very difficult to overcome. However everything would be possible if students work hard and be committed for their objectives, she underlines.

As students pass through those difficulties and achieve their objectives, they will become stronger and plan for the future for another success, Dr. Mastewal remarks. Therefore, they will be chosen and liked by everyone including the outside word like that of her who is teaching and consulting in South Eastern Oklahoma University, USA, she added. Thereby, learners need to have a vision to work towards for the accomplishment of it though there is no enabling environment. Furthermore, students should understand that much effort and work is mandatory for the betterment of themselves, their families and their country at large, she advised the students.

Due to a number of reasons which are related to gender, female students are expected to encounter numerous problems that may hinder them from their education. However, females must understand it and be strong to improve the lives of themselves and their families since much is expected from them as they are 50% of the country, she concluded.

Mr. YilkaleAndualem, Burie Campus Administrative& student service Vice Dean says that the campus prepares itself well to give accreditation and recognition for students whose score is 3.75 and above GPA with a title President  Ambassadors  as the students become successful by confronting with  the  external information they had about various institutions of the country and concentrating and giving due emphasis to their education that will help them to  shoulder their families and country’s responsibilities. Thereby, this enables best scorers to advance their achievements and others will be initiated and motivated to be engaged in competition so as to be successful in their education,Yilekale remarks.

Eyachew Teshale, DebreMarkos University Students’ Union President, on his part stating the importance of the accreditation and recognition of students who scored 3.75 and above GPA reminds that this will have versatile merits for the students and the institution, too including getting the students in competition rather than spending their precious time on irrelevant and unconcerned issues and agendas. Thus, it helps learners to focus on their ultimate objectives and be successful to adequately address their responsibilities that their families and their country expect from them as a responsible citizen who could bring the country one step ahead, he added.

Accrediting and recognizing students as per their achievement is a very big success and deal since learners of the university scored high with difficulties and absence of peaceful teaching-learning environment in other institutions of the country as learners engage on non-businesses activities  with various extraneous factors. As a result, if the University and other institutions use it as a means for molding and encouraging learners not as an end by itself for the accomplishment of their missions they will benefit a lot, he recommends. Thus, in turn enables to foster the reputation of the University, Eyachew, remarks.

At the end, this activity enables to foster and assure quality education to bring about a change on the attitude of stakeholders to work together in building responsible and productive citizens, he concluded.
