Capacity Building Training held for Fresh and disability Students

DMU: Debre Markos University has conducted Capacity building trainings for both fresh female students and disabilities. DMU gender, HIV/AIDS and disability affairs directorate has organized training for fresh female students and disabilities that join the university in 2010 E.C.  Life skill, basic computer skill and Peer-education were contents of the trainings.

DMU of women affairs Senior expert, Ms.Selam Mekibeb, said that building the capacity of females and disabilities is the main objective  of the training by providing different supports and trainings  like, basic computer  and life skill training.

On the same token, DMU HIV/AIDS prevention senior expert, Mr. Mohamed Seid explained that providing capacity building trainings to fresh students have a merit to provide exposure of female and disability students for psychological, reproductive health and other critical problems.  Moreover, the trainings help the students to increase assertiveness and self- confidence that help them to adapt unexpected risks that may face at the university.

Meanwhile, students who has been attended the training explained that such trainings help them to increase their awareness about extraordinary characteristics, peer pressure, psychological and other problems that challenges their objectives to be achieved.  Finally, they explained that they can get basic computer skill training access without any fees as they are not affording to pay for the training.
