Debre Markos University discusses with Doctor Gojam Limenih to work together

Debre Markos University higher Officials discusses with Doctor Gojam Limenih, Critical Public Health Researcher and Faculty Staff at the University of Western Ontanio, Canada and Advisory Counsel for Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Ethiopia on areas that they could work together cordially today on Friday 21 February 2020 in DMU Senate Hall under the presence of Vice Presidents, College Deans, Researchers and concerned bodies.

It is noted that Doctor Gojam Limeneh is a critical Public Health Researcher who has been working as lecturer and senior researcher in School of Social Work and Health Sciences at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. She has over a decade of progressive work experience of teaching in the University, researching in the areas of Public Health and Mental health and community mental outreach programs both in Ethiopia and Canada.

In addition, her research interest is primary in the areas of health systems, global health and global health research ethics, and mental health care.

Speaking at the discussion floor, Doctor Tafere Melaku, Debre Markos University President says that the young and enthusiastic staffs who have been attending the Seminar presented by Doctor Gojam are inspired and initiated. Thus, Doctor Tafere thanked and appreciated her for her contextual and lively presentations which initiate the interest of the young instructors of the University.

Though the environment is endowed with huge potential, the community is not benefiting and using it rather it is affected by malnutrition since we are practicing traditional mode of farming since the onset of agriculture, Doctor Tafere remarked.

For this, Debre Markos University is aggressively working together with abroad institutions and individuals to foster and enhance the development of the University by establishing Collaboration and Partnership Tafere reminds.

The University is proud and glad to work together with Doctor Gojam having her initiation and interest on Debre Markos University. Thereby, The University would benefit a lot from her as she could support the University in numerous things by herself and creating networks with others in the abroad, Doctor Tafere expressed his belief.

Doctor Gojam would help the University in finding and creating ways in shaping and finding funds for the projects that the University has designed and developed, establishing joint programs, establishing Collaborations with Individuals and Institutions and in many different areas too. This in turn will enable the University to have staff exchange and have scholar, he underlined.

Participants of the discussion indicated that Doctor Gojam would help them in mentoring, establishing programs and departments, exchanging staff, publication, empowering women’s, building capacity, assuring professionalism and developing e-library.

Finally, Doctor Gojam expressing her happiness and honor, she says that having open leadership management which is the key to work together and make difference is very crucial for the Institution and for this she admired and appreciated DMU president Doctor Tafere Melaku for his best qualities quest he has  that she witnessed. The University has young, dedicated, inspired and energetic staffs who are highly motivated to know and educate themselves, Gojam witnessed.

Furthermore, Gojam indicated that she could work together with the University in personal and Institutional Linkages. As a result, she will work with the University in establishing programs which are market oriented to avoid over production and saturation, Internationalization of the University and the staffs too, mentoring in staff development and Diaspora engagement in the University, finding and linking with funders for researches and projects which demand huge amount of money, empowering women through capacity building, establishing and developing e-library, and other things with her qualified and committed friends including Professor Sosina Haile and Professor Senait who are both  USA Scientists in various fields, she promised.
