Debre Markos University Receives Recognition and Appreciation Certificate from the Ministry of Peace for its Valuable Contribution in Training Graduates of Higher Education Institutions

Like any higher education institution Debre Markos University is established to work on Teaching and Learning, Research and Community Service. As part of Community Service, Debre Markos University has delivered training for voluntarily engaged youth who have graduated from higher education institutions.    

Dr. Esubalew Meku, President Office Head of Debre Markos University says ‘The National Volunteer Service Program organized by the Ministry of Peace has been held in Skylight and Sheraton Addis Hotels in Addis Ababa. The program aims at delivering training to the unemployed graduates so that they can serve the community using their knowledge and skill.’ Accordingly, Debre Markos University has facilitated and trained more than 2000 unemployed graduates for 45 days. For this enormous contribution, the University has received certificate of Recognition and Appreciation from the Ministry of Peace. 

H.E Muferiat Kamil, Minister for Ministry of Peace, Honorable Guest of the Program, guests representing the federal and regional government offices, Civil Service Commission, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and University’s Presidents have attended the ceremony.

The Training has been given with a motto ‘Virtue for Unity’ and the trainees will invest their time, energy, skill and knowledge to their community. A total of about 10 thousand graduates are trained in 20 higher education institutions and the training is expected to sustain for the future.
