Debre Markos University signs above 3.5 million birr provision MoU with Human Bridge

Debre Markos University signs a bilateral agreement with Human Bridge Biomedical College for the provision of hospital equipments which cost above a 3.5 million birr to furnish Bichena Hospital, in the University Senate hall, December23, 2019.

It is noted that the objective of the agreement is to improve the health care in Bichena Hospital through the provision of hospital beds, bed side tables and other medical equipment through cooperation with charitable organization, Human Bridge of Sweden.

Dr. Tafere Melaku, Debre Markos University President states that Human Bridge Biomedical College has been working with the University being one of the centers for students’ practical center for health Science College. Human Bridge Biomedical college has promised to furnish the Health campus, Debre  Markos University Teaching Hospital which is under construction   , he, added. He also comments that Human Bridge has to give due emphasis to furnish the very nearby hospitals though it furnishes many hospitals in the country.

Mr. Alemneh Yitayew, Human Bridge Biomedical College Dean, says that the college is considered to be the only college which gives training on installation and maintenance of medical laboratory equipments in the country. Trainers are gathered from all sections of the country as per the selection of Federal Ministry of Heath in collaboration with regional Health Offices.  The college is training 298 students, he added.

Finally, the two parties agreed to strengthen and widen their relationships in relation to health affairs. Thereby, Health Science College, Debre Markos University will work together with Biomedical College.
