Debre Markos University Works with Johannes Kepler University

DMU: Debre Markos University in its external relationship and partnership venture works with JohannesKepler University, Austria. Public lecture is also organized at Debre Markos University.

During the Public lecture, the president of Debre Markos University Dr. TafereMelaku states that the university adheres to work on increasing external relationship and Partnership especially with universities and research centers that have ample experience in all aspects.  The relation between DMU and Johannes Kepler University, Austria, is the fundamental to work collaboratively in different areas.

The Public lecture was given by Professor VeronikaWittmann and Professor Michael John. Professor VeronikaWittmann on her topic “Cosmopolitanism versus Downfall: The agenda of World Risk Society” states that globalization and world nationality is crucial especially the world is full of risks as a result of civil war, climate change and other factors. Meanwhile, cosmopolitanism in universities across the globe is important to minimize risks.

Professor Michael John on his presentation entitled “Maria Theresa in Ethiopia” he tried to show the areas of research that connects Ethiopia with Austria. The research areas in which it will conduct jointly with Debre Markos University and Johannes Kepler University are identified.

Memorandum of Understanding will be signed in near future to work on research, project work, staff and student exchange.
