School of law

The Law School of Debre Markos University aims to promote the quality of legal education in compliance with domestic and international standards, and providing a teaching environment characterized by freedom and creativity that inspires vigorous pursuit of ideas, and crititical analysis and civic engagement in order to advance the rule of law in an open, suitable society.

Because the student is the core of  the educational process, the Law School has invested majority of its program to support and enhance their legal knowledge through establishing Legal clinic, moot court, and provide the required guidance in addition to face to face lecturing.

Moreover, enhancing the scientific research in the legal and related environments are the Law School’s priorities. Therefore, the Law School is encouraging research, the involvement of students and school members in specialized legal workshops, seminars and conference as well as sending staff members to different universities to pursue their higher studies.

Concerning public relations, the Law School is continuing its on- going efforts to connect students and the school members with local and international institutions in order to support the objective of the curriculum and enhance the learning process.
