- History and Heritage Management Programs
The Department of History and Heritage Management is one of those early established departments in Debre Markos University that was founded in 2007. Since its foundation in 2007, the department is working hard to strengthen itself both in material and human resource. There are two programs in the department: namely undergraduate program and the postgraduate programs. The undergraduate program is delivered to students since the foundation of the department to this day with curriculums revised at different times in the regular, extension and summer program. The postgraduate program, Masters of Art Degree in History, is opened in 2017 to produce competent historians who are capable of engaging on advanced level historical research to meet the growing demand in the country. Like the undergraduate program, the MA program is given to regular, extension (including at Burie campus) and summer students. Since we have an Archive Center in the university, it is a good opportunity to students who are joining our MA program to get ample sources for their studies focusing on Gojjam area. Thus it is a good facility for our students to attend their education in our department.
