To realize this vision the university has already given special attention to improving quality of education, expanding graduate programs, creating research culture, building the capacity of staff and infrastructure. DMU strives to realize in centre of excellence in crop production and agro-processing and Culture, literary and language development. The Directorate of the Director for Public Relation &amp; Communication of the University is the administrative organ which has the responsibility of helping the university realizes its vision and missions through creating local and international partnerships, building effective internal and external relations and serving as the key information source for internal and external customers of the university. Hence the office works with different categories of customers: Internal stakeholders (the students, the academic and administrative staff and the management) and external stakeholders (the community, local and international partners).<\/p>\n<p>Established as one of the most important administrative wings of the university, the office operates through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li title=\"\" data-original-title=\"\">Public \u00a0Relations and Communications<\/li>\n<li title=\"\" data-original-title=\"\">Foreign affairs and Alumni management<\/li>\n<li title=\"\" data-original-title=\"\">Printing press<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Directorate of the Director for Public Relation &amp; Communication\u00a0<strong>is responsible to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ensure that relevant and up-to-date information concerning key activities undertaken by the university (teaching -learning, research and\u00a0communication service)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Who we are<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Directorate of the Director for Public Relation &amp; Communication\u00a0has a responsibility of helping realization of the mission and vision of the university through building effective internal relation and communication, external relation and partnerships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Directorate has three partition, Public Relations and Communications, Foreign affairs and Alumni management and Printing press. As such the directorate has been designed as one of the pillars of the university.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What we do<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have the responsibilities of maintaining internal and external communications- creating links with other universities, issuing magazines, newsletters, brochures and flyers, holding press conferences, taking care of media relations, conducting communication audits, updating and managing the official website of the university, preparing university profiles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have a general objective of establishing effective internal and external relations\u00a0by providing up-to-date information concerning activities undertaken by the university.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As such we work with different categories of customers: the external stakeholders, the students, the academic and administrative staff and the management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The external stakeholders comprises of foreign universities, government and non-government organizations, individuals, federal and regional actors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We communicate precise and timely information on academic issues as well as on relevant administrative matters to the university community in order to facilitate the overall academic endeavour. We also make necessary and accurate information available to both the academic and administrative staff to facilitate informed decision making.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We strive to create effective communication system among colleges, schools, institutes and directorates as well as various support service departments for a better academic excellence and service delivery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We also organize events and public forums which add value to the inter-staff rapport among the wider university community or between external
