Led by its motto \u201c<em>Preserving Nature &amp; Advancing Knowledge<\/em>\u201d, the center focuses on creating evidence-based solutions to tackle pressing environmental &amp; livelihood challenges around its vicinity, Ethiopia &amp; beyond. Located in the ecologically important Choke Mountain area, it serves as an epicenter for research on climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, ecology, sustainable livelihoods, agroecology &amp; watershed management. The Choke Mountain region is one of Ethiopia\u2019s main water sources &amp; biodiversity hotspots, offering a unique environment for interdisciplinary research. Choke Research &amp; Development Center collaborates closely with local communities, government agencies, NGOs &amp; international research partners to turn scientific discoveries into practical applications. Through community-based research, policy work &amp; capacity-building programs, the Center supports sustainable land use, resilient farming, ecosystem restoration &amp; better rural livelihoods. Besides its research efforts, the center plays an important role in community development &amp; sharing knowledge. It ensures that scientific results directly contribute to local &amp; national development goals. By blending traditional knowledge with modern science, center aims to encourage inclusive &amp; sustainable development. Choke Research &amp; Development Center is dedicated to supporting Debre Markos University\u2019s mission of academic excellence, innovation &amp; making a positive impact on society.
