Community Engagement in Training

  • The Department of Agroforestry is dedicated to providing demand-driven training programmes for stakeholders. We offer specialized training in various areas, including the production and management of non-timber forest products, bamboo production and management, forest mensuration and inventory, and agroforestry technologies. Additionally, we conducted training in nursery establishment and management, as well as in reforestation and rehabilitation of degraded lands. These initiatives aim to empower communities with the knowledge and skills required to sustainably manage forest resources and enhance their livelihoods.

Collaborative Partnerships

  • We actively collaborate with several key stakeholders to enhance our efforts in agroforestry and forestry management. Our partners include the East Gojjam Zonal Agricultural Office’s Forest and Environment Department, Amhara Enterprise in Debre Markos District, Ethiopia Forest Development Authority, and Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute. These collaborations are pivotal in driving initiatives and achieving sustainable outcomes for the community and environment.
