                     Research and Community Services

The department has actively engaged in research works on the issues of political-economy, political culture, democratization, politics of land, displacement, diplomacy, state-society relations, inter-state relations, power politics, nation building, regional cooperation and integration, election, human security, hydro-politics and other related issues.  The staffs of the department have carried out research papers funded by the university. Far beyond research undertaking, the staffs have published their academic works on various reputable national and international journals. And, the department has presented seminar papers to the academic community of Debre Markos University on cross cutting issues of Ethiopia and the world at large. Moreover, postgraduate and undergraduate students of the department have undertaken various academic research works on various themes. Above all, the staff members profile on research engagement, and participation in seminar presentation has found to be promising and an exemplary to others.
