Community service projects in the college

  1. Podoconiosis prevention, health promotion, treatment and rehabilitation since 2012 and ongoing
  2. Community-based project to improve life and establish job opportunity for street children at Debre Markos town in East Gojjam Zone, Amhara region, Northwest Ethiopia
  3. Project on Exploring family based approaches aimed at prevention and sustainable self-management of disability due to leprosy, podoconiosis and lymphatic filariasis within the family With Ethiopian National Association of Persons Affected by Leprosy and Netherlands (Dsin) University of Amsterdam.
  4. Trachoma prevention through school health program in two woredas (Aneded and Basoliben)- ongoing
  5. Life skill and sexual education training for preparatory students in east Gojjam zone—ongoing
  6. Early marriage prevention project in Awabel and Basoliben Woredas in collaboration with social science and law school
  7. Harmful traditional practice training and awareness creation in collaboration with other colleges
  8. Consultation in health issues in the consultation center of the University in Debre Markos Town
  9. Students community based training program involve in community education, sanitation, latrine construction, resource mobilization and participation in clinical management
  10. Participation in Dibza River development project
  11. Capacity building for health professionals in collaboration with the regional health bureau, more than 800 professionals yearly trained in different courses
  12. Project is developed on integrated management of podoconiosis, leprosy and other NTD for fund raising
  13. Podoconiosis, lymphatic filariasis and leprosy project is implementing in Zigem woreda, Awi zone in collaboration with Ethiopian national people affected by leprosy association and Amsterdam university, Switzerland
  14. Community based field research center is planned to be established that combine research and community service.
  15. Some research outputs changed into developmental projects (traditional medicine) -on progress
  16. Research management software is being devised by health informatics department
