Department of English Language and Literature was one of the departments under the Faculty of Education since 2010 at DebreMarkos University. It was established, as one of the departments under the Faculty of Education. Now a day The Department of English Language and Literature is one of the departments under the college of Social Science and Humanities.
The Department of English Language and Literature at Debre Markos University has well Qualified Instructors (human power),9 PhD holders (6 in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), 1 in Applied Linguistics, and 2 in Literatureand 18 others who joined Ph.D. program in the field ofTEFL , Linguistics and Literaturewho will graduate after a semester and a year. In addition the necessary materials will be available in a sufficient way to train the trainees in the programs (undergraduate and postgraduate).
