Welcome to the Debre Markos University Community Service Directorate.
The Community Service Directorate strengthens the university’s engagement with society through demand-driven, practical, and sustainable initiatives. It works in the areas of training, consultancy, STEM education, and community-based development projects to support local and national development priorities.
The Directorate delivers capacity-building trainings based on community needs across sectors such as education, health, agriculture, technology, leadership, and entrepreneurship. It also provides consultancy services by mobilizing university expertise to offer evidence-based solutions and technical support to government institutions, NGOs, and community organizations.
In addition, the Directorate promotes STEM education and innovation to enhance digital skills and problem-solving capacity. Its development projects focus on land rehabilitation, school improvement and construction, small-scale irrigation, animal health, poultry farming, and other livelihood-support initiatives aimed at improving food security and sustainable community development.
