Debre Markos University Community Service Directorate in collaboration with Natural and computational College give professional development training under the theme “Linking Teaching and Learning Chemistry with Research” for Secondary and preparatory chemistry teachers for two days.
Speaking at the opening stage Mr. Yilkal Bezie, Debre Markos University Natural and Computational College Dean, States that the college has been giving different short term trainings for teachers by professionals. As to his explanation the objective of the training is to ensure quality education, to enable teachers solve problems using available resources and advance their capacities. Participants of the training should share their knowledge to others, Yilkal added. The University and the trainees shall work together to maintain quality education, he reminds.
Mr. Basazinew Dires, Debre Markos University Community Service Directorate, Training and consultancy officer, on his part says that the training focuses at research and the training will continue with additional rounds of trainees.
Finally, practical training on proposal preparation has been shown for and implemented by the trainees having the theoretical framework given by the trainer. Trainees express that the training has brought them to the frontline in the preparation of proposal.
