Debre Markos University orients entrants on its service delivery

 Debre Markos University gives orientation to 3380 entrant students on its service delivery. Debre Markos University subsection leaders and the community Administration Branches make awareness to the entrant student on their respective service delivery during the orientation session. Thus, students can easily be familiar with the university and the community.

Speaking at the orientation stage, Dr. Nigusie Mitiku, Debre Markos University President, says that it is great to join university after primary and secondary education successful achievement and scoring pass mark for tertiary education. University is the place where learners can be equipped with knowledge, skills and attitude, Dr. Nigusie reminds. It is not an end rather it is a gateway for achieving their aims. Thereby, learners should use their time properly to accomplish their goals for the betterment of their future life and their family. Students should widen their knowledge, skills and attitudes by reading in libraries in addition to the lesson they take with their instructors. Fresh students should never speed their time with their seniors who have familiarized themselves with the university, he added.

The university supports the students in every aspect as their parents until they graduate according to their departments. University instructors and administrative staff are very collaborative to help the students, Dr. Niguse reminds the entrants. Students are also advised to give appropriate respect for their instructors and supportive staff. Since students have different religion, culture, language and ideas, they have to tolerate each other. For thus, they have to follow the rules and the regulations of the university. Furthermore, Dr. Nigusie wishes them a peaceful and successful academic year.

In addition, Commander Mekonnen Goshu from East Gojjam Zone Police, and Mr. Alachew Zerihun, Debre Markos Commercial Bank Branch Manager, give orientation on their respective institutions services. It is noted that the orientation enables to aware the students and lighten their fear of unfamiliarity.

The University has given transportation service to the Students from the bus station to the compound. Thereby, Students have been free from any transportation and related problems.
