DMU:Debre Markos University in cooperation with Jhpiego Ethiopia offer competency –based gender responsive pedagogy training from October 10-17/2017 in Gozamin Hotel, Debre Markos Town.
The dean of Debre Markos University college of Agriculture W/ro Workinesh Tirunenh states that the training has given to the newly employed, transferred and non-trained teachers. Hence, this could have vital significances to bring quality education in general and consider gender concerns in planning the lessons in particular.
It was also noted that the gender responsive pedagogy training pay attention for both male and females to the learning teaching activities to make the classroom practices largely on gender-based, avoid gender-biased, stereotypes and finally so as to make the innovative learning approaches even more gender sensitive though interactive learning methodology. Therefore, the innovative approaches of teaching- learning could lastly meet its climax and targeted learning outcomes, she added.
According to Mr. Mebit Kebede, from Jhpiego- Ethiopia None governmental organizations education and training consultancy, on his turn explains that Jhpiego Ethiopia has been working cooperatively with save the children on the project entitled “Grow through nutrition” for the coming five years /2016-2021/ the training could be able to elevate the teachers intellect to perform their plan on their work in their university they working.
