
DMU: Debre Markos University College of Business and Economics offers entrepreneurship training for the departments underneath in line with the global entrepreneurship weak on November 16/2017.
The Vice president for Academic Affairs of DMU Mr. Tadesse Tenaw states that entrepreneurship is being conducted for higher institutions students so as to make them equip with knowledge, skill and attitudes that transform them as entrepreneurs. This is to be effectively performed by the students after leaving universities. This context is supplementary to make them creative themselves besides searching for jobs after graduation. On this context, students believe that the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship skill are important and it is a shifter to be good entrepreneurs in line with their field of study. Therefore, the way courses and trainings offered should be revised and well- researched with the context on local and global perspectives and national strategies, Mr. Tadesse added.
Mr. BantayehuTamire, Dean of College of Business and Economics, explains that entrepreneurship as a course have been given for several years admitting that the course is essential, periodic and market oriented concept. On this occasion, the training is screening methodological problems and to narrow the gap observed on the methodology offered under each teacher and to transfer knowledge. In doing so, the college of business and economics on behalf of the university, is doing partnership officially to fill the gap identified so far.
Mr. BizualemLema, Debre Markos University Entrepreneurship training program coordinator announces that although entrepreneurship education has been given many years back, there is a problem too. The problems can be content wise; lack of knowledge, skills and attitude concepts. Therefore, the training is fundamentally crucial to add multiple teaching methodologies to widen the students looking preferably.
Lastly, Mr. GetamesayWorku, Debre Markos University management Department head, on his side states that students would be able to create their own business after graduation. Hence, this training adds values on the students’ creative ability as those important contents are substantially added.
