
DMU: Debre Markos University School of Medicine graduates medical doctors for the second time. The graduates are second batch New Innovative Medicine students. During the graduation ceremony, Mr. Tedesse Tenaw, Debre Markos University acting president, states that Debre Markos University has given special emphasis and recognition for medical school through budgeting high amount of money for the effectiveness of the program. Moreover, the university strives to work jointly with Debre Markos referral hospital so as to provide practical attachments and internships though it demands high amount of cost. Basically, it was done to enable and equip the learners with holistic efficiency.
Currently, the university gives emphasis to develop the teachers of school of medicine dramatically. That is why; more than 40 doctors have got scholarship for specialty training in order to offer quality training on the given field of study, Mr. Tadesse added. In doing so, the graduating doctors must shoulder their professional responsibility on treating the entire community in accordance with the professional ethics coded underneath.
The head of Amhara National Regional State Education Bureau and the honorary guest of the day, Mr. Yilkal Kefale on his hand stated that Ethiopia is always face with chronic transmitted and non-transmitted disease through the country despite its preventive health care policy. Thus, to get rid of such problems increasing medical professionals are indisputable. Therefore, the country gives emphasis to develop professionals in higher education institutions to curb the human resource shortage of the sector. For that matter, Mr. Yilkal remarks that the graduating physicians to discharge their humanistic and professional responsibility genuinely wherever they are assigned.
Among 39 graduating doctors 6 of them are females. Gold medals and certificate have awarded to outstanding students.
