
DMU: Debre Markos University the Research and community service directorate is performing multiple tasks on farmers’ land living starting from providing improved seeds to the harvesting and stocking stage for the better life.
Guay and Tija Gotirkebeles at Debre Elias Woreda are among the areas the clustered wheat farming harvest is carried out with technology. Under this area, Guay Andinet farmers’ cooperative is one among others working on clusters of improved seeds and be able to multiply for others voraciously.
Mr. Denekew Ayalew, Guay Anidnet improved seeds cooperatives chairman, reports that Debre Markos University plays significant roles on providing improved seeds, giving professional training and financial support. Debre Markos University is additionally creating awareness for frames in the kebele especially on using modern technologies for harvesting in order to avoid extravagancies and peoples exhaustiveness so that six combiners are rented for harvestation.
Debre Elias Woreda crop production Department team leader Mr. MehariTsegaye, on his turn acknowledges Debre Markos University for its multifaceted support to the effort applying from awareness creation to providing of improved seed for three cooperatives.
Eventually, MrMehari points out currently, Debre Markos University is carrying out many tasks. However, the people in the kebele and Debre Markos University will work jointly to make the cooperatives strong and independent seeds producers and suppliers. In doing so, the worada will be keenly cooperated with Debre Markos University.
