Debre Markos University and Beza International Inc San Deigo-EL Cajon, USA, a non-Profit Organization sign Memorandum of Understanding to work together in enhancing and developing health care issues and education under the presence of concerned bodies and invited guests in DMU Senate venue, on 7 February,2020.

It is mentioned that the objectives of the MoU are working in capacity building through scholarship and staff and students exchange, teaching, conducting joint projects, understanding community development or service and supporting with resources including textbooks, laboratory equipment’s, computers, etc.
The two parties agree to work together in the true spirit of partnership to ensure that there is a united visible and responsive leadership in the areas of cooperation.
Dr. Tafere Melaku, Debre Markos University president, speaking at the agreement ceremony says that Dr. Tadesse and his association will help the University in capacity building through creating relations with other Scholars in addition to donation of laboratory equipment’s. Debre Markos University is to host an International Research Conference for the first time and many scholars who will support the University in their profession will be invited from the abroad. Thus, Dr. Tadesse will play a great role for contacting scholars to come, Dr. Tafere underlines.
Dr. Taddess Desta, Founder and Board member of Beza International, on his part states that the Ethiopian –American Doctors group in America are doing a number of things for the Ethiopians by establishing centers in Ethiopia.
It is very difficult to establish collaborations with American Universities, but collaboration can be made with various departments to solve those problems that Debre Markos University has, Dr. Tadesse , added.
Furthermore, It is better to start from the scratch and move to the bigger ones in solving the problems you have rather than focusing on the major and big problems, Dr. Tadesse remarks.
Dr. Tafere Melaku on behalf of Debre Markos University and Dr. Taddess Desta on behalf of Beza International Association sign the agreement. Dr. Tafere gifts Ethiopian men’s traditional cloth ‘Gabi’ for his invaluable and commitment for coming and delivering a short term capacity building training for the Health Science College Instructors of Debre Markos University. Finally, Dr. Tafere thanks and wishes long live for Dr. Tadesse.
Mr. Endeshaw Kassa ,Debre Markos University External Relation and Project Design and Development Directorate Director, states that Beza International Inc, is a non-profit Association of Concerned Ethiopian Professionals Dedicated to harness expertise for the benefit of the Ethiopian people. Thus, it donates laboratory equipment’s to Debre Markos University which costs more than 150,000 Birr.
It is noted that Beza provides a robust database for best practices on pertinent issues to be posted and made accessible to concerned professionals. Furthermore, it works in boosting agricultural outputs, improving quality education, tackling intractable plagues, assuring areliable supply of power ,digging wells and providing asteady supply of potable water, modernizing sanitation efforts expanding infrastructure development, combating hunger and homelessness and assuring adequate health-care for all, Endeshaw added. Thereby, Debre Markos University will benefit a lot from the MoU, Endeshaw concluded.
Participants of the agreement state that Beza International Association can help Debre Markos University in furnishing teaching laboratories and fulfilling equipment’s, delivering community services and conducting problem solving research and establishing Institutional networks with other institutions. Thereby, the collaboration will boost other things as a whole, they concluded.
