Debre Markos University Conducts Half-Year Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Evaluation for the 2018 Budget Year

Debre Markos University has conducted a six-month performance evaluation based on the 102 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) contract agreements signed with the Ministry of Education.

During the evaluation forum, which was attended by members of the university’s leadership forum, Dr. Getamesay Worku, Director of the Institutional Transformation Directorate, presented a report highlighting encouraging progress in several key areas, such as teaching and learning processes; research, innovation, and technology transfer; community engagement and institutional social responsibility; international relations and partnerships; and leadership and administrative activities.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Getamesay urged relevant stakeholders to ensure the achievement of goals for the remaining half of the year by properly reporting activities and documenting necessary evidence with high quality. He also suggested developing a clear monitoring checklist, establishing an evaluation system, and conducting weekly or bi-weekly reviews (at both sector and campus levels) to address gaps in a timely manner.

Dr. Sayeh Kassaw, President of the University, addressed the forum, urging leaders and professionals to maintain their strengths while giving special attention to departments with lower performance levels.

Finally, the President emphasized that focused efforts are required to bridge performance gaps in specific areas, including curriculum revision, organizing laboratories, the “5 Million Coders” training initiative, and community service participation.
