
At Debre Markos University, the third round of the national exam began on Hamle 1, 2018 E.C. at the main campus for students taking the exam online (via the internet).
Speaking about the examination process, Dr. Abatyihun Alehgne, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Directorate and Exam Coordinator at Debre Markos University, stated that this year’s online exam is being administered in two rounds: First Round (Online), running from Hamle 1 to 3, a total of 598 students have already started taking the exam. Second Round (Online) is Scheduled from Hamle 6 to 8, where 869 students will sit for the exam; 1,467 students in total are taking the exam digitally.
In addition to the online format, Dr. Abatyihun pointed out that this year’s Grade 12 national exam will also be administered via traditional paper and pen. The paper-based exam will be conducted from Hamle 6 to 8, 2018 E.C., by which 6,412 students coming from various woredas (districts) will sit for the exams.
The Director highlighted that to ensure the successful delivery of both the online and paper-based exams, the university has made extensive preparations. This includes: Establishing various dedicated committees, Organizing laboratory and ICT experts, as well as supervisors, chiefs, and coordinators deployed from the Educational Assessment and Examinations Organization and Deploying security personnel to ensure the safety and integrity of the examination process.
