The aim of the training was to capture land related data by using UAVs, as well as on the processing, and manipulating of the data. The training focused on practical sessions supported with theoretical explanations. The main topics of the workshop and training were:

  1. Brainstorming, discussion and elaboration of valuation process of non- and informal learning for LLL; and
  2. Demonstrating, examples and generating information by RS/GIS.

The practical sessions were image interpretation and classification; planning and carrying out of photo flights; GIS analysis and visualization; Orientation, orthophoto production, DSM generation; Advanced training in Photogrammetric topics and Advanced training in RS/GIS. The workshop and training was started by the opening remarks of Excellency Kora Tushne, state minister of the ministry of education. In the opening remark, it has been stated that imparting quality education by modernisation of the curriculum; exercising active learning strategies; and focusing on practical applications as one of the focus areas of the MoE.

In the training 33-project team members from the eight partner universities participated and the training was delivered by Northern Universities partners within the campus of the building college. The UAV flights were done within the boundary of the building college and the data captured were processed in the computer lab of the college. Repeated photo flights were conducted within the selected area and trainees gained the necessary competence on how to capture data by using UAVs and process it. The costs of the workshop and training were covered by ERASMUS+ capacity building program grant fund of the Li4LaM project.
