Graduates Profile

The graduates of the study program ‘Land Administration and Surveying’ will acquire all the necessary knowledge, skills and level of maturity to enable them carrying out various responsibilities in land related issues. The students who complete their education from the institute are able to:

Knowledge

  • Understand the conceptual specifications of land administration systems and their role for the sustainable development of the country;
  • Understand the range of land administration functions that ensure the proper management of rights, responsibilities, restrictions and risks in relation to property, land and natural resources;
  • Understand the concept of land policy, policy options, good governance and rule of law regarding access to land, tenure security, land transactions, land reform, land use planning and land taxation;
  • Understand the beneficial effects of lease and lease arrangements;
  • Acquainted with the approaches and systems of property valuation and apply their knowledge to the market-based valuation of real properties;
  • Understand legal and technical procedures for formation and reformation of property units;
  • Understand the application of geospatial technology to land administration systems
  • Understand and use contemporary technologies in LA and surveying for the benefits of the society;
  • Understand the legal and technical procedures for land related dispute resolution, formation and reformation of property units
  • Comprehend the beneficial effects of commons and other natural resources and how to manage them
  • Acquainted with the approaches and systems of property valuation and apply their knowledge to the market-based valuation of real properties

Skill

  • Design efficient and reliable spatial data infrastructure (SDI);
  • Design and maintain of adjudication, registration, surveying, data acquisition, data processing, data distribution technology, customer relations, workflow management, ICT architectures, and information management;
  • Equipped with skills for developing master plans and detailed plans for both urban and rural areas;
  • The skill to measure, collect, compute, analyse, and adjust surveying data and produce maps;
  • The skill in collecting, managing, analysing and modelling of geospatial data in order to produce a cadastral map and to develop a land registration system;
  • Be equipped with legal issues that enable them to amicably adjudicate land-related disputes and to give legal advises;
  • Display a critical understanding of the concepts of land policy in relation to tenure security and land markets;
  • Determine the principles and processes of LA, real property value and compensation;

  • high sense of responsibility by understanding and appreciating the ongoing developments at national and international spheres in the area;

Professional Profiles

Upon successful completion of the four years Bachelor (BSc.) study program ‘Land Administration and Surveying’ professionals will:

  • Apply knowledge, skills and experiences to contemporary issues of population, environment, gender and land management;
  • Organize and provide short and long-term trainings, workshops, and seminars for Land Administration related institutions found at national and/or regional level;
  • Be involved in resources mapping and surveying related to land;
  • Be involved in real estate investment analysis and market studies;
  • Undertake urban and rural land use planning and infrastructural development;
  • Design efficient and reliable Land Information Systems for all groups of society;
  • Advise policy and decision makers and concerned stakeholders on different land related issues, laws and regulations;
  • Carry out modern urban and rural land registration processes/cadastre;
  • Be involved in resolving land-related disputes based on the relevant legislation of the country;
  • Participate in land-reform tasks, land development activities and rendering rights;
  • Design and regulate land and infrastructural development by land use control measures.
