Guest lecture to HSWT Students
The strong partnership between Institute of Land Administration at Debre Markos University and Regional Management program at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University is astonishingly proceeding as planned. This has been strengthened by the support of DAAD via Haw.International project fund.
Guest lecture to students of both universities is one area of focus in the lecture series of Haw.International project. Accordingly, lectures are underway both in zooms and as guest lectures in both partner universities. As has been written in news article and posted in the Institute of Land Administration website, zoom lectures are delivered both to Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University and Debre Markos University students. Examples, Professor Jennifer has delivered zoom lecture to master and some graduating class students of the Institute of Land Administration at Debre Markos University (http://www.dmu.edu.et/la/2023/02/10/zoom-lecture-by-germany-professor/). Dr Sayeh and Tilahun, also have delivered zoom lectures to Triesdorf campus Master regional management students. The title of Dr Sayeh guest lecture was on Land consolidation whereas for Tilahun, the legal framework of land administration in Ethiopia.
Besides, the zoom lecture, Dr Sayeh delivered guest lecture to Triesdorf campus regional management master students in his stay at Triesdorf from June 12 – 26, 2023. The title of his guest lecture was ‘Land Tenure and Tenure Security’. More than 60 students have participated actively the guest lecture (face-to-face and online). The main contents of the guest lecture were land tenure and its development, why land tenure, intersecting interests of land tenure, property regimes, property rights, tenure security, and land tenure categories in Ethiopia. Besides, he delivered seminar on ‘Land Administration for Addressing SDGs’ to regional management master students.
During his stay in Triesdorf, he introduced about Debre Markos University to the staff of Triesdorf campus. He also participated to Academics Day of Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University Triesdorf campus which was very interesting to get experience on how to motivate the academic staff who scored astonishing achievements during the academic year. It was really inspirational and motivating for the staff of the campus. The Triesdorf annual exhibition was also very colorful where many companies exhibited their produce in the availability of a lot of people.
During the Triesdorf stay, a program was arranged to visit the Bavarian ministry of Agriculture, food and forestry. The main duties of the ministry were presented by the state minister and we gained a lot of experience especially on the endeavor of the ministry in reducing greenhouse gases. The ministry is achieving remarkable results towards the issue. We have also visited peat land in rural areas accompanied with good explanation of researchers.
