Background

1. Background

Debre Markos University began training in Masters Degree programs in 2005 E.C (2012 G.C) in 5 disciplines. Since then, the University has launched several programs in Masters and PhD programs in various Disciplines. At present, Postgraduate college has been training  students in MA and PhD Programs  in colleges of   social science and humanities, Natural and computational sciences, Business and Economics, Agriculture and Natural Resources; Institute of Technology, Institute of Educational and Behavioral Sciences and School of Law. The university has currently 52 Masters Programs and 9 PhD Programs. Post graduate college provides training in Regular, Extension and Summer Programs  and PhD (Doctoral Degree) training in Regular Program.

However, the current organizational structure is being reshuffled and a new structure meeting the demands and expansion of programs will be in effect. Besides this, each college/institute/school that has postgraduate programs has a coordinator at  vice dean level  as specified in  table 2.
