Technology College Overview

In today’s Ethiopia, there is a large demand for and a great diversification in higher education, as well as an increased awareness of its vital importance for socio-cultural and economic development, and for building the future which the young generations will need to be equipped with new skills and knowledge.

Technology College was established in 2001 E.C. It runs degree programs in both regular and continuing education.

The college is started and doing its best to meet the ever-growing demand for qualified and well -trained manpower in Engineering and Technology in the area of Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Information Technology, Hydraulics and Water Resource Engineering, and Software Engineering.

The college has done a lot in strengthening its capacity offering under graduate programs and satisfying the manpower needs of the country in the area of Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Information Technology, Hydraulics and Water Resource Engineering, and Software Engineering.

The college has 275 academic, 46 technical assistances and 23 administrative staff. The academic staff qualification mix shows 1.99% PhD, 28.29 % and 69.72%, are 2nd degree and 1st degree holders, respectively. In 2015/16, about 91 academic staffs were on study leave for 2nd and 3rd degrees at home and abroad.
