Debre Markos University Registrar has been organized and started its function with the first batch of 760 students in 2006/2007 G.C when the university was established in the same year with one college and eight departments.  The Directorate is responsible for managing the academic records of students and is committed to serve students and the external community. The number of students in all under and postgraduate programs is increasing each year such that those registered in the regular, summer and extension programs during 2016/2017 academic year have been reached over  30, 000.

In order to provide quality and fast services to its customers, the Registrar Directorate has been decentralized the activities into four organized branches in             addition to the main registrar. These are, Social Science Branch, Natural Science Branch, Technology College Branch and Burie Campus Branch.  Each of these branches is coordinated by the assigned assistant registrar to ensure decentralization. In addition, postgraduate student issues are managed by separate officer under supervision of the main registrar. Correctly, the directorate has 50 workers of which 32 are record officers. The directorate also established branch at Belay Zeleke Campus of Bichana Town which provides services only in extension program.
