DMU Gives Life skill Training for Colleges and Preparatory School trainees

DMU: Debre Markos University Gender affairs and HIV/AIDS prevention directorate gives life-skill training for trainees drawn from different colleges and preparatory schools from March 27-30/ 2018.

Dr. Wuhabe Birhan, Debre Markos University behavioral science and psychology teacher, explains that the objectives of the training the people are about to identify and handle problems, impediments and other unconscious and deliberate happenings gradually, wisely and reasonably faced throughout their life to put dependable and convincing decisions ultimately.

It was noted that life skill is nothing but it is an endeavor that individuals search for solutions for challenges, which faces them throughout their life. It was also a skill that let people live together with themselves and others positively through frequent and long run periods. It is basically developed (achieved) from the interaction of parents, peers, religious fathers, teachers and other organs through regular or non-programmed periods.

Dr. Wuhabe also added that everybody should enquire him/herself in depth by critically evaluate, ask and peruse rationales, what have and don’t have, abilities and other personal qualities frankly to develop positive feeling, happiness, industriousness & able to refute negative peer pressures.

Mr. Desalew Getnet, Debre Markos University public relations and communication directorate director, on his turn explains that people should disseminate their cradle idea systematically and wisely irrespective of ignoring of listening others feeling and ideas. Thereby, effective communication demands self-confidence, self-esteem, deep thinking, respecting others and respected by others. Moreover, knowing and acting rights and responsibilities accordingly, and forming effective communication for the sake of understanding desires and problems of others requires building assertiveness.

The participants, eventually, acknowledged the university in general, the trainers in particular as to giving the training to solve problems rationally are fundamentals to fill lifelong joys, and stress free life.
