Debre Markos University peace forum, one of the student organizations in the University, is fundamental for significant in keeping and maintaining peace in teaching learning activities.

The forum Chairperson student Eshetie Mihret states that peace forum is established to create peaceful internal and external learning environment after analyzing and identifying the causative agents of conflicts through proactive conflict resolution mechanisms.

Debre Markos University peace forum adheres peaceful co-existence through discussing the University’s Community primarily on solving disagreements through peaceful ways; performing tolerance and respect, arbitrating of conflicts, minimizing and lately avoiding students who commit mistakes in the university. In addition to this, the forum works on forming strong linkage among several arrangements so that prevent causes of problems easily to live mutually peaceful in an intercultural setting.

The forum consists of 16 members from students, teachers and administrative staff members drawn rationally. These members are usually conducting reasonable summits to talk over activities and identify challenges and difficulties occurred in the university to plan anticipated activities so that put concrete directives and remedies for the risks.

Thus, individuals could live together in harmony and become strong for overcoming unexpected problems, which may occur accidentally and ultimately brings positive change on the holistic teaching-learning activities.
